My goal for Round 3 of A Round of Words in 80 Days is to write another 10,000 words on my unfinished fantasy manuscript. That averages to 125 words a day. I’ve written nothing new this month. There are about 7 weeks until the end of this round. I’m going to have to get my behind in gear if I’m going to make my goal. Yeah, I know I can modify it – but I want to finish this original goal. I plan on doing Round 4 and I have a completely different goal in mind for those 80 days.
Goal: 10,000 Words
Words Written: 1204
Progress: Behind But Can Still Catch Up
Here are some random thoughts for the week:
- The last few months I’ve been watching The Wire. I noticed George Pelecanos worked on it. (I read last year.) When I saw him in an interview at the Museum of the Moving Image I was surprised at how young he was. At that time he was in his late 40’s and I expected him to be older because he’s worked on so much.
- Since Tuesday I’ve been fighting off sinus problems. I haven’t had such pressure behind my nose in years. Things have been better the last few days.
- I haven’t wanted to touch the computer this week. I think this explains why I didn’t do check-ins for last Sunday or Wednesday.
How are you doing on your ROW80 or writing goal?
Once your sinuses feel better or you find some medication that will make the pain go away, you’ll start writing more. I had cold with horrible sinus pain this week and didn’t write at all. You can still make your 10000 words. Comes out to around 250 words a day for 35 days. Isn’t it amazing how young some of these authors are. They’ve been writing so long it makes you think they are all older and most of them are younger than me. Hah. Hope for us! Hope you have a good week.
all the best for this coming week – if you can catch up without killing yourself go for it but sinus probs. are the devil for slowing down the thought processes – dont make yourself ill.
I’m glad someone else is well behind – I think I’ve written about 500 words this month – my goal is 250 words 3x a week.
I totally feel the same with not wanting to edit my goals – I feel like that would be giving in and not pushing me as much as I know I can.
I’m going home tonight to do a little writing. I’m determined to. If I can you can – go on!
Oh, and I hope you feel totally better soon x
Hang in there, you can still make your goal! And hope you feel better. I just got over my own summer cold that wasn’t too fun. Had me stuck inside for three days, and unable to enjoy the weather!\
As for your random thought about the Wire…I love that show. In my opinion, one of the best shows ever written. Between the talent of the actors, the writers, and well everything about it really, it beats just about everything else I’ve ever seen. I’m working on the 4th season, and have the 5th (ie. final season) ready to go. I will be so sad when it all ends though. Might have to go back and start watching the series over! Anyways, hope you enjoy the rest of the series and good luck on the rest of the ROW80 challenge!
