Why has this book been challenged?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The objection to this book is the nudity of Mickey, the main character.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Some have stated it is gratuitous.\u00c2\u00a0 Also, it could be taken as the first step to using pornography in the future.<\/p>\n

Summary of the Book<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mickey is in bed when he hears noises.\u00c2\u00a0 He yells for the noises to stop, tumbles out of bed, loses his clothes and falls right into the night kitchen where the three bakers bake cakes for the morning.\u00c2\u00a0 The bakers mistake Mickey for milk and mix him with the other cake ingredients.\u00c2\u00a0 He helps them get the milk to bake the cakes and thereafter\u00c2\u00a0we all have cakes in the morning.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

What did I think of it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was a silly story but probably won’t be something that stays with me.\u00c2\u00a0 I didn’t like or dislike it.\u00c2\u00a0 This is probably a good book for me to read with my nephews.\u00c2\u00a0 Younger kids will like the rhythm of the words.\u00c2\u00a0 Each page has detailed drawings.\u00c2\u00a0 I was much more interested in the buildings than in Mickey’s nudity.\u00c2\u00a0 The buildings have kitchen utensils on them and words\u00c2\u00a0commonly found in pantries on the containers of baking ingredients.\u00c2\u00a0 They are very fanciful.<\/p>\n
