A big thank you to Marcia at A Girl and Her Books<\/a> for originating Mailbox Monday<\/a>. This weekly meme is now on tour with a new host each month. July’s host is A Sea of Books<\/a>.<\/p>\n Now that I’ve finally figured out how to get my laptop to recognize my Kindle… I may need to lay off buying books for a while. I discovered I had novels from Smashwords I’d never downloaded. Guess what’s on my Kindle now?<\/p>\n First up is All Different Kinds of Free <\/em>by Jessica McCann <\/a>which was a free Kindle book from Amazon. I know nothing about it except it’s published by Bell Bridge Books and so far I’ve liked everything I’ve read in their catalog.<\/p>\n Next is When Danger Calls <\/em>by Terry Odell<\/a>. This was in my Smashwords account. It’s a romance with a mystery twist and is the first in a series.<\/p>\n Also in my Smashwords account was An Absolute Mess <\/em>by Sidney Ayers<\/a>. It should be a short read\u00c2\u00a0– good for when I don’t want something long to read at lunch.<\/p>\n Vampire Vacation <\/em>by C.J. Ellisson<\/a> was won in a giveaway. A 580-year-old vampire who runs a resort for the undead is an interesting premise.<\/p>\n From NetGalley came two food related\u00c2\u00a0books for review. Wheat Belly<\/em> by William Davis, MD and Cook Like a Rock Star<\/em> by Anne Burrell. The first sounded interesting as I know some people who have tried to minimize their wheat intake and have felt better. I’m a frequent viewer of Burrell’s show “How to Cook Like a Restaurant Chef” on the Food Network so I wondered what she’d share in the cookbook.<\/p>\n Lastly is A Tale of Two Goblins <\/em>by H.P. Mallory<\/a>. This is the second book in the Dulcie O’Neil Series. She’s a fairy working in law enforcement for the Netherworld.
