Happy April Fool’s Day!\u00c2\u00a0 It was a holiday my family never celebrated which is surprising.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Aren’t older brothers supposed to be full of hijinks and\u00c2\u00a0pranks?\u00c2\u00a0 Maybe they were too\u00c2\u00a0well behaved or I\u00c2\u00a0didn’t take pranks well.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

    March was not a good month for writing anything new.\u00c2\u00a0 I took a workshop on how to use my characters’ personalities to drive the plot forward.\u00c2\u00a0 It made me rethink the point of view used in Three Girls, a Corgi, and a Dead Body<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m thinking I should switch it from the widowed sister to the single sister.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s something that’s going to take a while to figure out.<\/p>\n

    I also took a deconstruction workshop on The Fifth Element <\/em>in March.<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0 One topic covered was Chekhov’s Gun which I now realize is one of my favorite things to look for in books and movies.<\/p>\n

    One of my LiveJournal communities decided to do critiques this year and I submitted a short story.\u00c2\u00a0 The feedback was extremely helpful in giving me an idea of what could be done to improve it.\u00c2\u00a0 April should bring some more writing and editing on it.<\/p>\n
