On the drive back from Washington, D.C. we passed through a little town.\u00c2\u00a0 Cumberland, Maryland would be an easy place to pass without ever knowing a thing about it.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
My husband was a little bit hungry and saw a Roy Rogers sign at that exit.\u00c2\u00a0 Going down the ramp were some incredible looking buildings and a one way street of houses parallel to us that welcomed us to the East Side.<\/p>\n
The buildings to our left were tall wood and brick structures that defied gravity.\u00c2\u00a0 They were slightly rundown and reminiscent of something from Babe: Pig\u00c2\u00a0In The City<\/em> and a Tim Burton movie.\u00c2\u00a0 A few streets away and we were in another part of town declaring Cumberland the Queen City (which is\u00c2\u00a0a nickname for\u00c2\u00a0Cincinnati).\u00c2\u00a0 The buildings seemed a little newer.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n While my husband was driving I had to look up the city on Yelp! and found the When Pigs Fly barbecue restaurant.\u00c2\u00a0 The portions sounded like much more than my husband could eat.\u00c2\u00a0 Since we could not find the Roy Rogers\u00c2\u00a0we\u00c2\u00a0returned\u00c2\u00a0to the freeway.\u00c2\u00a0 The buildings were taller than any visible fast food sign.\u00c2\u00a0 From the freeway I could see a railroad museum and a gorgeous church spire.<\/p>\n Once home I had to find out more about Cumberland.\u00c2\u00a0 It still has a running train line to Washington, D.C. and Chicago, Illinois.\u00c2\u00a0 William H.
