Stelzig, &#8220;Crown of the Earth&#8221; by Seth E. Lender, and &#8220;Illusion&#8221; by Edmond Cheng.<\/p>\n<p>Miriam\u00c2\u00a0with the Hachette Book Group sent me a copy of <em><strong>When Will There Be Good News<\/strong><\/em> by Kate Atkinson.\u00c2\u00a0 A fitting arrival since I finished <em>One Good Turn<\/em> over the weekend.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The other books were all obtained on my trip.\u00c2\u00a0 <strong><em>The Manual of Detection<\/em><\/strong>by Jebediah Berry.\u00c2\u00a0 Though he&#8217;s not Canadian,\u00c2\u00a0I found this book on a table and found the blurb\u00c2\u00a0from\u00c2\u00a0The New Yorker irresistible.\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;From the classic tropes of the detective procedural, this debut novel weaves the kind of\u00c2\u00a0mannered fantasy\u00c2\u00a0that might result if\u00c2\u00a0Wes Anderson were to adapt\u00c2\u00a0Kafka.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Monkey Beach <\/em><\/strong>by Eden Robinson.\u00c2\u00a0 This is the first English language novel written by a Haislat and the story takes place in Kitamaat which is in British Columbia.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>February<\/em><\/strong> by Lisa Moore.\u00c2\u00a0 In 1982 the <em>Ocean Ranger<\/em>sinks and no one is found alive.\u00c2\u00a0 Left behind is Helen O&#8217;Mara, a mother of three, who has to figure out how to put her life together without her husband.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Born With A Tooth <\/em><\/strong>by Joseph Boyden.\u00c2\u00a0 A collection of thirteen short stories about Aboriginal life Boyden is a native of Ontario.<\/p>\n<p>What arrived in your mailbox this week?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A big thank you to Marcia at The Printed Page for hosting Mailbox Monday.\u00c2\u00a0 This week was a big one for me since I went to Toronto for a few days and tried to pick up some books by Canadian authors while there.
