\u00c2\u00a0Here’s my list of things I wanted to get done.\u00c2\u00a0 Items crossed off have been completed.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Finish adding WordPress Plugins<\/span>. (SEO Optimization and a mirror for LiveJournal are the two I had to finish.)<\/li>\n
  2. Finish writing reviews.\u00c2\u00a0 (That Went Well<\/em>, The Trap<\/span><\/em>, The Patriot Witch<\/span><\/em>, King Titus<\/em>, Dead Witch Walking<\/em>, and Death’s Daughter<\/em>.)<\/li>\n
  3. Finish my blog tour\/book review policy page.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Finish my May Story of the Month post.\u00c2\u00a0<\/li>\n
  5. Review my list of future theme posts.\u00c2\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Mini-Challenges Attempted<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    Bookish Ruth on Website Grader<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0which grades your site for SEO (search engine optimization).\u00c2\u00a0 I did this earlier in the month and my grade raised from 82 to 86.\u00c2\u00a0 During the weeks between grades I added the All-In-One-SEO plugin and added metadata information.\u00c2\u00a0 I also signed up for Technorati where my authority rating has fallen from 30 to 33.\u00c2\u00a0 (The lower the number the better.)\u00c2\u00a0 Technorati uses the number of links going to your blog in the last 180 days and I figured out one reason why my rank lowered.\u00c2\u00a0 I was a blog tour stop for Secrets to Happiness<\/em> but didn’t add my own link to the list of tour stops.\u00c2\u00a0 Other tour stops came by to get the code for their own sites but my link was left off.\u00c2\u00a0 Lesson learned.\u00c2\u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

    Another mini-challenge hosted by\u00c2\u00a0softdrink<\/a> consisted of making new connections by visiting 10 new blogs to us and leaving a thoughtful comment.\u00c2\u00a0 There 85 participants and not all of them were book related blogs so I got to visit some new sites.\u00c2\u00a0 This mini-challenge was not completed.\u00c2\u00a0 I did go to 10 new blogs but I only left thoughtful comments on 6 of them.\u00c2\u00a0 Here are the sites I visited and left comments:

    Beth Fish Reads on Blog Improvement<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 Write a post (opinion or list) and save it for a rainy day.\u00c2\u00a0 I was reminded I want to do a post about book formats (hardcover vs. trade paperback vs. mass market) but I didn’t actually start writing it.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

    Chronicle of an Infant Bibliophile on Blog Catalogs<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 The challenge was to add your blog to a new to you blog catalog.\u00c2\u00a0 I was already a member of most of the book related blog catalogs so I signed up for bloglistings.net which I hadn’t heard of before.<\/p>\n

    Devourer of Books on updating a key page or post<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 I completed this mini-challenge without knowing I had completed it.\u00c2\u00a0 One of my goals was to finish writing my book tour and review policy page.\u00c2\u00a0 While I did that, I checked out my bibliography and biography pages to make sure they were still accurate.<\/p>\n

    Michelle from Galley Smith regarding anchor text<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 If you haven’t learned about anchor text this is very informative.\u00c2\u00a0 I completed the challenge successfully, I might add!<\/p>\n

    Summary<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

    For lunch yesterday my husband and I went to Cuco’s, one of our favorite restaurants.\u00c2\u00a0 I had the Al Pastor and Chorizo tacos which were both new to me.\u00c2\u00a0 And of course I ate a lot of their chips and salsa.\u00c2\u00a0 It’s important to take time to eat during a challenge, right?\u00c2\u00a0 Altogether, I spent about 10 hours on the challenge and left a dozen comments on various blogs.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a lot of fun!\u00c2\u00a0 A big thank you goes to Natasha at Maw Books Blog for hosting the Bloggiesta challenge<\/a> and her husband for making the badges for the challenge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
